Fomfok hike 4 - pinnacles national monument

Yesterday was *the* Pinnacles hike.
About 7 miles, 2215 feet elevation gain, 4.5 hours, and only 661 Calories!

The terrain was very rocky, steep uphill and downhill. They were many interesting wild flowers, but not as grand as I have anticipated. Poppies there are not orang but yellow, and there are many purple shooting stars. The red 'woolly Indian paintbrush' are everywhere especially in high altitude. We saw a condor's butt from the telescope set up by park rangers, the park celebrates the come-back of condors and their raising new baby chick. The condor was using its butt to block and protect its chick. Despite the paparazzi, the birds are taken care of in the park, people feed them calf (not live, I think) in the feeding site. Up in the hill, what I appreciated most about this park is the bird gliding between hills, I can see the wind from those wings.

The camp ground is conveniently located close the park entrance, it would be a good camping destination choice. Maybe in one of those lucky days of mine, I would see a flying condor here.
