half-moon bay beach, off leash experience

Cartman was exhilarating today, now he was dozing off on the couch like a log, and of course clean.

We brought him to half-moon bay beach off highway 1. There was maybe 1/4 mile steep descend from highway to the beach including a cable portion. We could not manage to keep Cartman on the leash for the descend since it was hard for us to go down while avoiding pulled by him. So, we let him loose. How happy he was!! He was like a bolt rushing down with such ease. I was worried we might lose him into the wild. Fortunately for us, he remembered. He was rushing front and behind between four adults, particularly waiting for his slow mum. How sweet.

The beach was enclosed very nicely. Cartman was free running all over, thus exhilarating. He seemed surprised with such new experience of everything: soft sand, the waves coming back chasing him, misty air, and first of all the freedom. Of course it just took very few seconds to get him soaked with water and sand. The beach was long, in the middle, out from the mist, came a yellow dog. The two started to chase endlessly. We had to drag Cartman from the chasing since verbal commands had no effect no him. When he was dragged out sight of the other dog, thanks to the mist, he forgot him instantly and resumed his sticking to the group, running back and forth between four people making sure all of us leave no his sight.

Over all it was a great outing for the dog, and us.
