After walk
A shock collar was used first time in our walk. He was shocked (sound) four or five times during the walk when he tried to approach to other dogs too enthusiastically or eat garbage off the ground. On our middle way, he got his tail down, and walked hastily. Poor guy, I had to protest and got his collar removed. A few minutes after the collar was removed, he had his tail high up again, and went back to his bouncy steps. But we did not manage to persuade him to poopoo which usually has been the first thing he does always in a walk. I guess the collar had upset him too much.
"We protest! No collar no more. We would rather stay uncivilized!"

Fremont Older open space
We hiked at 4:30pm yesterday afternoon. We visited the same place many times in spring and we haven't come here in August yet, especially at 4:30pm. It turned out be very nice to hike in the hot afternoon. There were less people, we got the trails to ourselves. The parking was very easy. The greenness in spring time had turned into brown and red leaves. The trail is dry, all of us got dusted. Of course especially Cartman, with his long hair, he was all grey. It was quite hot too, he had his tail down right about five minutes we started. Eventually he got his tail up after we finished the two-hour hiking.
eat too much?
He eats his chow right after we finish the dinner and before walking him. We had to pull him out when he is burying his face in the bowl. Then he would do the same thing before going to bed. Between these two feasts, he has his food to himself all day, a buffet. He suppose to be the breed who eats only necessary.
And, he is now 25.5 pound!
Definitely weight control schedule need be in order.
motivated to eat
He loves his kong. I usually stuff it with cookie, peanut butter, sometimes even dry pork (肉松)。He loves them all. In the case of the cookies, he carries his kong with his mouth to the sofa, and throws it down to the floor. This usually will bounce the smaller cookies out, he observes and figures out where the loose cookie is and dashes into it. If no cookies out, he will keep doing it until some jumps out.
============================
Whatever he was doing, sleeping or scratching, he would dropp everything, if I got a ice creme bar from the refrigerator. A ice bar, that is what he loves. He usually need wait for his turn, I let him finish the last 1/4, that's our deal. He put his head in my shoulder, and waiting for his treat, trying to be patient. He might whine a bit, but at the end both of us are happy.

what happens when we carpool together
Today on the way to Petsmart with Cartman, at the first stop sign from home, we were stopped by a cop, and I got a ticket for not stopping at stop sign. Ugh!!
It's all Cartman's fault, of course. He was almost on my face while I was driving.
Initially I thought the cop were going to ticket me for driving with a jumping dog. But no, it was not the dog, it was me. :((
The only comforting thing was that he did bark to the cop, LOUDLY. Yeah~~

once upon a time, there is a cat
A yellow cat, a handsome yellow cat, met me on my way to throw the trash. I mow-mowed to him, he mow-mowed back and walked close to me. Right in front of me, he did this:

Scratch, it is. I cannot resist such invitation. He rolled over again and again, while I scratched him under his neck.
For such a nice cat, I could have one.
I cannot resist one thing too. I called out nan, he carried Cartman out. The yellow cat under my hands immediately rolled straight up and walked away with his tail fuzzy and high high up. -- "More scratches are welcome; a dog, is not." --

binding again
Cartman was a bit withdrawn for the first week when we came back from vacation. He was very observant and kept looking at us with his ears held low and back, which made him look like this:
Last weekend we spent some real quality time together. At the end of the weekend, he was tired of me already. He finally waived in and accepted the towel I threw onto his back and doze into dreams...
