MJ: Black and White

Oddly I didn't listen to music when I grew up. Actually it seems I still don't, most time.
This is the first song I knew of MJ. That came in one of the cassette tapes named 'crazy English' audio magazine I bought when I decided to learn English better. That was almost in my senior year.

I must look like a monster when all the people around me felt sorry on the shocking news. To lots of people in my age, he is the landmark in our teenage years.

'He is not someone I look up to'... My mind had been painted with those images from those bad news about him.
I guess I don't feel I lost someone special to me.

......


But, man, he is talented!
Thanks to youtube, I now know.
I guess I will start to listen to some music.

When I had to work, he would wait patiently aside, but kept very close attention to every move I made. If I raised myself up, he would immediately came out his doziness and followed me around. Every time, I could not help smiling at his long sigh and appreciate his understanding.

He does his sigh routine a lot at morning too, especially in weekend morning. He keeps checking me up to see if I am awake and if I am ready to get up. A few times later, he would go to my pillow, and put himself around my head. After making sure there is no chance I would get up at 8:00 'clock in a Saturday morning, he would sigh, and put his head on top of my forehead, and sleep along with me for another an hour or two.

nostalgia

I didn't have a lot of pretty clothes when I grew up. One piece of clothes I liked a lot was a white sweater hand made by mum when I was in high school. It was not very flattering to my figure, but it was white and warm. I picked the color for the yarn. Every time I wore it, I had some sense of fluffy prettiness. The truth was because it was white, it was very easy to get dirty, especially I wore it. So, most time it was actually in this dirty white or grey color, which is the exact color Cartman is in most time.

Today he just got a bath, he is still a clean white sweater.

对那年夏天，确实没有多少悲情感。一是因为当时年纪小，只有13岁，但更主要的是因为我对一切“群众运动”有天然的隔阂感。总觉得那年夏天的学生和66年夏天的学生是同一批人，不过是赶上的“班车”不同而已。

但仍需纪念。因为那个数字已经成了一个符号，和自由、热忱、理想主义等人之为人的品质联系在一起。今天的中国，离自由、热忱、理想主义比20年前更遥远。重温那个数字，就等于一个民族重访那个可能的自己。

上周末在朋友家聊天，说到中国的犬儒主义。

“The saddest part is not they don’t care, because I can understand the indifference, short-sightedness and the complete devotion to private life. The saddest part is that they hate people who care.”

这里说的“they”不是指“他们”，是指已经发了的、正在发起来的、梦想要发的、也许永远不会发但孜孜不倦追求发起来的，“你们”。

“你们”常说的话包括：
“空谈误国，实干兴邦”。
“这肯定又是民晕分子在造谣。”
“上海比纽约还要高楼还要多！”
“你以为美国真的很自由啊。”
“为什么你总盯着中国的阴暗面！”

关于“空谈误国，实干兴邦”这句话，我一直没明白是什么意思。是说鲁迅当年不应该写那些文章，而应该当个农民老老实实种地吗？是说看到电视上的人大代表们在大会上一言不发面无表情便感到由衷欣慰，因为他们一点也不“空谈”所以真的很“兴邦”吗？ 发两句议论怎么就“误国”了呢？ 耽误了国家上哪趟车去哪个站一共耽误了多少分钟呢，造成人民生命财产损失有多少呢？

据说那一年之后之所以需要高压，是为了维护社会稳定。

据《瞭望》报道，中国06年“群体性事件”数量为9万件。也就是平均每天246起。

嗯，真稳定，一天只有246起。

哪像台湾，那么乱，每天立法院的人都在吵架，有时候还打架。我们多稳定，一天只有246起群体性事件。而且一天246起群体性事件的情况下，报纸上、电视上还只有两个飘逸的大字：和谐。

一直不明白那些笑话台湾民主的人其优越感从何而来。人家把一个发霉的包子放在桌上，我们把十个发霉的包子藏在桌子底下，所以我们家比他们家更干净，于是社会主义优越性就证毕了是吗。

当然“你们”是看不到的，你们坐在北京上海“比曼哈顿还密集”的写字楼里或直接坐在曼哈顿的写字楼里，窗明几净的实验室里，热气腾腾的餐馆里，或者某酒店的“水疗室”里，新闻联播前，怎么会看到这每天246起“群体性事件”呢？既然你们没有亲眼看到，它不是反华媒体的谣言又是什么呢？那些信谣传谣的民晕分子们不是在“空谈误国”又是在干什么呢？竟然还有人为这些人提供法律援助、经济援助、要“不顾当地政府的劝阻”采访他们报道他们？说，拿了美国主子多少钱！

真的，The saddest part is not you don’t care. It’s that you hate people who care.

我因此怀念那年夏天，那个空气中充满自由、热忱和理想主义的夏天。

扔鞋那天我去听了演讲。演讲结束之后走出演讲厅，看到门口两堆人，确切地说一大堆人和一小堆人。一大堆，是“热烈欢迎”的中国学生，几十个。一小堆，是前去抗议的某功人员，三五个。

几十个那堆朝气蓬勃，说说笑笑，有人高喊：“他们不走，我们也不走”！

三五个那堆，面无表情，年龄不等，看上去像中国大街上的民工，没准还真是雇来的民工。

那天刚下过大雪，又或者还在下雪，记不清了。我猜着雪地小心翼翼地往前走，走着走着，开始泪眼朦胧，因为被那三五个人的脸和脸上的辛酸震动，因为这些或者因为迫害而流落至此或者因为贫穷而寒风中驻足的人，也可以被叫做“同胞”。

然后身后传来那一大堆人欢快的齐声口号：“祖国万岁！统一万岁！”

你说，这些孩子，这些青春靓丽的孩子，如果早生20年，站在当年那个广场上，他们又会喊些什么呢？

曾经看过柴静mm做的一期《新闻调查》节目，采访的是一个河北监狱的杀夫女囚犯们。女囚们似乎都有一个类似的故事：长期承受野蛮的家庭暴力，找当地干部，干部不管，找派出所，派出所不管，找妇联，妇联也不管，最后这些女性忍无可忍，杀了老公。

看了这个节目，我就琢磨，不是说天朝“治理能力”很高吗，“治理能力”都跑到哪儿去了呢？

后来看了这个故事和这个故事，就知道“治理能力”都跑哪儿去了。

我想说的是，这个纪念对于我，不是关于过去，关于清算，关于复仇。它是关于现在，关于未来，关于救赎。如果一个国家纳税人的钱不是用于帮助被欺辱的弱者，而用于雇佣打手殴打记者，它还有未来吗？它的未来是你所想要的吗？你真的仅仅因为到处插满了摩天大楼，就为这个国家感到骄傲吗？你真的会仅仅因为一个贵妇开宝马和拎LV，就会发自内心地尊重她吗？

上面两个故事告诉我们，“天网恢恢，疏而不漏”。纵使有960万平方公里，16亿人，长江长城，黄山黄河，他们可以随时定位到你，跟踪你，骚扰你。结论当然是，您是老大，别人都不是您的对手。

但，雨果说过：There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.

I watched Tank Man from youtube, for the first time, then I watched more 6.4 videos from youtube. Some of segments of the video, I saw them from TV set back home, as a high school student back then. It seemed so long ago. Twenty years.
