today's class was to do "sit" and "down" all over the petSmart store, so to command doggie whenever and wherever. Well, that was not gonna happen for Mr. Cartman. Once again he was the worst, he could not hear me when he was around other doggies, or other human. Tucker, Pepper, Daisy, Rocky and Zoe all knew their mummy's voice, as well as the new puppy Boy. Well, it was not news.

On the other side, he continues to invade into my life. I mean, now I WANT to grab him with me when I have a nap on the sofa. My bed is not off his limit either. Actually I kind look forward to having him sleep with me, not happen yet. In the a few times he jumped into my bed, and I allowed him to stay, he was more interested in chewing all bedding items, like books, small pillows, which was a bit annoying, since I could not keep eyes open while sleeping. :)  Talking about sofa, since he loved sofa so much, he jumps into it whenever chance strikes. But, he also likes digging the sofa, which is bad, the leather sofa starts to suffer from his scratching habit. So, I has to not sit on sofa if possible, instead, I choose to sit on floor, Cartman will follow me and be the one object between me and the TV. On occasions, when I slept on the floor yoga matt, he just climbed over my body and found the most comfortable spot, which was on my stomach, then, "wait, some is missing ...", he went off, went back to his pen and carried his big bone on the mouth, climbed back to the spot, ok, started to enjoy both the bone and the human pillow.

I hope the day he becomes my pillow comes soon.

** sofa
He loves sofa. I love him to have him besides me while I am on sofa, I dont mind him trumpet over me at all, his jumping on off, staying here and there a little bit, at any case, I could snuggle him while he would stay quiet without breaking loose for maybe 2 minutes.

old self

This is the second week after Cartman got his new look. He seemed to be fully aware of his appearance changes initially, he didn't dive into grasses or bushes as often as before, he always walked very proudly and didn't want to lie down any more. Ok, this new-look behavior lasted, for a week. This week, he seemed to come back to his old self: straightly dived into grasses or bushes, jumped this way and that way while walking, stopped suddenly and laid down in the middle of road or lawn. And of course he resumed his intense interests to other doggies, male or female.

I decided to drop out from our current puppy class so to join the new round of class. Last Sunday was the second class in the new round, our first. We met: Rocky, Pepper, Tuthy, Daisy.  Rocky is a very petite sided  Shi-zhi, very cute, even cuter than my Cartman. :)
We excelled in this class, since (1) I brought a zip-bag of chicken meat, which captivated Cartman's full attention; (2) we already took the same class before. haha.

today, he made me furious. He pushed my potted plant from window stand to the floor, the plant, the pot, the soil made a big mess in the living room. He was eating the soil when he was caught. sigh... After I cleaned up everything, and he kept whining while kept in his crate as punishment. I put the plant pot to the other end of window stand which is more difficult to reach. I let him out. Five minutes later, when I looked up again, the plant was on the floor AGAIN!! Today I came home earlier because I had migraine. But, Cartman just decided to spice up my chores and headache.

I am in serious need of methods to punish him or let him know he is punished.

His whining while he is kept in crate is too much a whine.

Anyway, we fought, we yell, we disgusted by each other (he bites), at the end, I collapsed into sofa, which now is his territory as well since he could swim his body onto it easily, somehow, he ended up lying on top of my stomach. It felt great to have your dog, his warm body breathing on top of you and share a sleep, or try to do that.

To meet your puppy after he just got his first haircut, is one of those moment could be called priceless. It is like falling in love at the first sight again: he is so different, wait, he *is* the same one ...

in the middle of the night

His paw is touching my foot, he has decided to go back to sleep after licking my foot for five minutes. We have to stay up tonight, at least one of us is having sweet dream. zzz

At exactly around 9:00pm, I remembered because I was watching " Simon Schama's Power of Art: Bernini" on PBS, the program finished at 9pm. I noticed Cartman was again humping the cow pillow, this was the first time after he got neutered. I suppose he was excited today, we met 3 to 4 dogs during today's walk. He was all excited with a tiny 2 and half year old "Collar"(?). Five minutes later, he looked all funny, he crouched his back, and looked he could not walk or lie down. And then I noticed his male thing was all bloody and big. This scared me, he didn't want to be touched, he didn't want to lie down, he stood there, didn't know how to handle himself, he also whined a bit. At the moment I thought he was dying, or gonna bleed to death. He was neutered a few weeks ago. "What kind of job the vet has been doing? Is his wound bleeding? Is it because he didn't get enough rest after being neutered? Did I feed him anything funny today?" Flood of questions and several frantical phone calls later, I dialed animal emergency center, "911 Dell Ave, Campbell CA, 95008, 408-371-6252", where I was advised to send him in and the visit would be 150 bucks, which I was more than happy to pay. I noticed his thing got smaller during the phone, but, still there were bloody stuff there. While waiting for nan to come home since I could not bear to bring him to hospital myself, he was totally in cannot-sit position, I didn't know how to put him into his kennel and etc, I noticed he seemed to be becoming better, then I took second look at his place, with courage, he was totally OK. No bloody stuff at all.

Both google and the other male in the house informed me: well, actually it was his first erection, being a male dog.

Male Dog problem: The two round objects you are seeing are called the bulb of the penis. It is really just one large area of spongy blood filled tissue but it has two lobes. These fill with blood rather dramatically when a dog gets an erection and do often have appearance of subcutaneous testicles alongside the penis. Many dogs continue to be able to produce an erection shortly after neutering and as many as 20% of dogs may be able to produce an erection long-term after neutering.
